The Brown Derby


The Brown Derby...First published as the De Rigueur in 1927. Then in the mid-1930s at the exclusive Vendome Club in Los Angeles it was renamed The Brown Derby.

Shaken |  Nick & Nora Glass |  Optional Garnish

Step 1:
Pour into your Cobbler Shaker:

  • 1.5oz Chamomile Tea Infused Buffalo Trace Bourbon
  • 1oz Liber & Co. Texas Grapefruit Shrub
  • .5oz Honey Syrup (we used Hudson & Lee)

To Make Chamomile Infused Bourbon:

For single use, fill a cup with your favorite Bourbon and let the chamomile tea bag steep in the Bourbon for 15-20 mins. Then remove tea bag and enjoy! 

Step 2:
Fill your shaker with ice and shake for 20 seconds

Step 3:
Strain into your vintage Nick & Nora or your favorite cocktail glass

Step 4:
Optional Grapefruit peel garnish

Step 5:
Put on some 1930's Big Band Jazz and enjoy your Brown Derby just as they would in the Vendome Club.
